Living with a Bear.

So- people think kennel/ crate training a dog is an easy thing right, shove them in the kennel, lock the door and we are good.

Wrong. Kennel/ crate training takes LOTS and I mean LOTS of dedication. I remember when Kaycee the pug was a wee little lady- MAN WAS SHE STUBBORN AND STILL IS. However- even working 8-12 hour days, she got the hang if it fairly quick. Weekends were better because she had less accidents but she is a little dog. Little dog= smaller bladder.  It took a solid year and a half to two years to fully train her, even when I moved and worked closer to home and would go home on lunch.  After a while, "kennel" was all I had to say and she instantly went inside or went to the back door if she had to go potty first. Now even though she hasn't had a kennel in years- I can still say " kaycee kennel" and she will run into the first kennel she finds, Bears included.

Now- Bear on the other hand.... He's only just shy of 7months old but dear LAWD DOG! You need to slow down in growing, and when you listen OHHHH SO SWEETLY at night time to me, just do that in the morning and anytime before 12 noon! Mornings are hard for us. He's just slept 10 solid hours or so and well, he's ready to get out of the house. And he does. He spends his time outside in the back yard while we eat breakfast/ he's already had his. He comes back in and plays with the kid. Well  when we have to leave the house.... That's another story. He does good at going into the kennel but man some days- it's a death stare match. But then at night- he goes in without question and falls asleep like this picture shows .... What the heck! And I mean every night. And I will not even close the door and he stays there THE ENTIRE TIME! All night long!  Now- another thing, his kennel is in the living room. We have this for a few reasons, and soon he's going to be moving into the bedroom.... He just needs to learn to not try and eat Kaycee. 😒 soooooo.... Since we basically got him- we have had to have one of us camp out taking turns in the living room couch surfing so he sleeps through the night. Otherwise- he wakes up and cries until someone comes and gets him. We obviously have some more training with this kennel business and I think at this rate- he's going to be another Kaycee the pug.  First thing- larger kennel. Second thing- new collar and leash. You don't EVEN want to see my hands right now or the leash rash and burn I have on the back of my leg from our massive morning walk today.... Good grief! I never expected EVER that when I named a dog, it actually would happen..... We live with a bear. A yellow golden Labrador .... Bear. 👍❤️

He looks small here but trust me, he's a good 55/60 pound Labrador.
