We are alive! I promise!

I KNOW! Its been a while since I have been here, I feel like I have been neglecting you all!  I promise I have not.  Leave it to us, the first almost four weeks of the new school year have been a total chaotic mess! In short, the doctors in this town got to know us REALLY fast. Poor Landrick, first week of school- came down with the " lets all share our nasty germs" bug. Basically a super powered cold and sinus infection. Ok, so onto the next week, he gets a " ballet fracture" on his foot and he had to stay off of it for an extended weekend.  Then there was the morning he woke up with a ever of 102.6... See I told you it was a rough start to the school year already!  Got him in the same day to his PCM office, poor kids barfing his guts out and is in pain... they think he either has a renal issue or his appendix. So they call for a medical transport aka, ambulance ride and we are off to the childrens hospital to meet with surgeons and doctors there to run tests.  When it was all said and done... we came home with a CT Scan showing Mescenteric Adenitis and another go of Rotavirus for him. This poor kids been admitted I think we counted 8 or 9 times now in the 6 years of his life for that damn Rotavirus. This one, it was bad.... it was so bad that it made his body mimic symptoms of appendicitis! Hence, why we had to speak with surgeons, because they thought they had to do surgery on him to remove the appendix. Well good thing the tests came back that he didnt have to have surgery, Just LOTS of fluids and rest. Almost 3 1/2-4 days of sleeping in a hospital, mom and dad are still kinda trying to catch up on sleep, dogs are somewhat back to normal and kid seems to be back to routine with school and home.

I have to say, the staff with Providence Childrens Hospital here in El Paso was wonderful. Everything from the ambulance ride to the stay was great, and they explained everything in great detail.  It really was nice.

Oh and I have finally set up a Twitter account!  Come follow me there as well! :)

BOOOO!!!!!

My poor kiddo :(

Waiting at the doctors office for word on what we are doing. He's miserable!

Basically hates everyone right now. Why.... Because he got a poke in his arm that's why. 👎

Getting ready for transport.

Once we arrived- he almost fell asleep I guess they said. I had to sit up front.

Trying to give a thumbs up for grandma. We are tired. Sick. And just overall exhausted.

Once we got settled in for the night- many tests and interruptions came but it was needed. Basically zero sleep.

So the next day! We loose a tooth, while in the hospital. The tooth fairy had fun with that one..... Biohazard bag with tooth and all!

The way we passed the time while Landrick was in his art class with other kids who had been admitted for other things. It was kinda nice to have a break!

Last day!!!! Waiting to get out of that place!

You could say we liked our own bed. Lots of rest and no school until the following week per doctors orders.

Then, This guy..... Never left his side once we got home. He missed his brother from another mother. :)

Living with a Bear.

So- people think kennel/ crate training a dog is an easy thing right, shove them in the kennel, lock the door and we are good.

Wrong. Kennel/ crate training takes LOTS and I mean LOTS of dedication. I remember when Kaycee the pug was a wee little lady- MAN WAS SHE STUBBORN AND STILL IS. However- even working 8-12 hour days, she got the hang if it fairly quick. Weekends were better because she had less accidents but she is a little dog. Little dog= smaller bladder.  It took a solid year and a half to two years to fully train her, even when I moved and worked closer to home and would go home on lunch.  After a while, "kennel" was all I had to say and she instantly went inside or went to the back door if she had to go potty first. Now even though she hasn't had a kennel in years- I can still say " kaycee kennel" and she will run into the first kennel she finds, Bears included.

Now- Bear on the other hand.... He's only just shy of 7months old but dear LAWD DOG! You need to slow down in growing, and when you listen OHHHH SO SWEETLY at night time to me, just do that in the morning and anytime before 12 noon! Mornings are hard for us. He's just slept 10 solid hours or so and well, he's ready to get out of the house. And he does. He spends his time outside in the back yard while we eat breakfast/ he's already had his. He comes back in and plays with the kid. Well  when we have to leave the house.... That's another story. He does good at going into the kennel but man some days- it's a death stare match. But then at night- he goes in without question and falls asleep like this picture shows .... What the heck! And I mean every night. And I will not even close the door and he stays there THE ENTIRE TIME! All night long!  Now- another thing, his kennel is in the living room. We have this for a few reasons, and soon he's going to be moving into the bedroom.... He just needs to learn to not try and eat Kaycee. 😒 soooooo.... Since we basically got him- we have had to have one of us camp out taking turns in the living room couch surfing so he sleeps through the night. Otherwise- he wakes up and cries until someone comes and gets him. We obviously have some more training with this kennel business and I think at this rate- he's going to be another Kaycee the pug.  First thing- larger kennel. Second thing- new collar and leash. You don't EVEN want to see my hands right now or the leash rash and burn I have on the back of my leg from our massive morning walk today.... Good grief! I never expected EVER that when I named a dog, it actually would happen..... We live with a bear. A yellow golden Labrador .... Bear. 👍❤️

He looks small here but trust me, he's a good 55/60 pound Labrador.
